The Relay: Introducing the RUNGRL Running Vision Planner

by RUNGRL Staff

Getting Ready for a New Year of Running!

Planning to improve your health and wellness for the new year all starts with a vision. When a new year begins, we can’t help but think about the possibilities, the satisfaction of resetting, and our hopes for what we want to accomplish.

RUNGRL wants to help you manifest your best year yet for running and overall wellness.

We’ve created a free, 14-day planner to help you kick off your vision for 2022 with real, actionable activities for both mind and body to establish good habits and set the tone for the year ahead.

‘New year, new me’ doesn’t have to be a tired gimmick. This planner is about finding your vision for your running and wellness goals in 2022, and setting the stage to manifest your success. You create the vision, RUNGRL supports the journey.

We’re starting a little later in the month, because sometimes you just need a little more time to get going.

What to Expect

Once you’ve downloaded the planner, it’s time to started building your vision. Each day carries a prompt to help you focus physically and mentally on your running and wellness goals for this year.

We’re making a real vision board here, so be sure to start off with all the right supplies.

For a traditional board, you’ll want a poster board or pushpin board, and a stack of magazines for inspiration. If you’re making a virtual board, you’ll want to set up your space on an app like Canva or PicMonkey.

Each day has one or two categories of activity to make your focus:

  • MANIFEST - This is your cue to think about how you want to show up this year and beyond. Use the prompts to guide how you build your running vision board.

  • RUN - You know why we’re here. Let’s get these miles!

  • BDY - Building better runs means diversifying our bodily focus. These days are for cross training and building strength and endurance with varying workouts.

  • FLEX - Stretch and recover with yoga, pilates and stretching.

  • NOURISH - Wellness can’t happen without proper nourishment. Focus on what you’re putting in to improve your output and outlook.

  • SELF-CARE - Rest is not optional. We’re pouring into self at all times, but on these days, especially.

You’ll receive email check-ins with RUNGRL for the latest updates and motivation. Follow along with the calendar, and check in with RUNGRL on Instagram for tips and tricks, plus live workouts and conversations throughout the month to keep you moving and engaged.

Tips for envisioning a successful planner:

  • Set yourself up for success. Planning ahead will make it easier to stick to the schedule. Have your supplies handy to mark your progress and build your board.

  • Days are interchangeable. If you need to switch a workout for a rest day, do it! But move that to another day to stay on track.

  • Reflect on where you’ve been, but focus on where you’re going. Once you’ve assessed your past running performance (or desire to get started), direct your energy towards the goals ahead.

  • Share your progress! RUNGRL is a community and we’re here to cheer you on. Share your wins--big and small--throughout the planner by tagging us on Instagram (@rungrlco) and using #rungrlvision. You could be featured!
